Buzznet Offices
2005TYPE: Workspace
CLIENT: Marc Brown
SIZE: 6,256 sqft
The American Cement Building was built in 1964 on the Miracle Mile with giant pre-cast concrete grilles at both of its long facades. In this retro setting Buzznet, a mobile blog community, enabled users to upload and share photos and video from their cell phones.
This interior fit-out created an entry area, open and closed bullpens, conference room and executive suite, plus supply room and kitchen. Partitions are exposed metal studs faced in sanded homosote and flush-edge whiteboards. Carpet tiles and stitching on the curtains use the company's logo colors (orange and sky blue). Furniture was custom built on a shoestring budget.
