RADAR designed this second-story ADU above an existing historic garage in Los Feliz for a philosopher academic who lives in the adjoining house with his large family. The project provides a quiet retreat for focused concentration and writing, and sunny outdoor areas for reading. The final result makes a tight budget go a long way, incorporating extensive built-in bookshelves and selectively applied elegant finishes.
